A new look team in Aragon

Despite a pole position and podiums in Race 1 and the Sprint Race, Jonathan Rea wasn’t satisfied after the last race of the 10th round of the Superbike World Championship, with his fourth place in Race 2 leaving him frustrated. “The bike just didn't behave the same on Sunday afternoon," commented the Kawasaki rider. “I lacked grip, despite the set-up being not much different. The conditions however were different and the track was a lot hotter. If I had to do the race again, I wouldn't opt for the same tyre set-up. With this temperature, I had trouble with the front tyre. I lacked stability in the corners. The Superpole race was incredible, though and the bike was working really well. I have to take the positives from this weekend, because it's no mean feat to turn up here and be on the podium."

Florian Marino was called in to replace Alex Lowes, who has been out with a knee injury since the French round of the WSBK. Studious and diligent, the Kawasaki test rider finished sixteenth twice before concluding his weekend with a fifteenth place which enabled him to score his first point. “I'm very happy to have had this opportunity," said the Frenchman. “I learnt a lot this weekend. I could certainly have done better if I'd been better placed on the grid, but to do that I would have had to be a little more aggressive in the Superpole. In Race 2, it was much hotter and I found it difficult to stop the bike coming into the corners. To finish with a point is a great reward for the team, who did an excellent job throughout the weekend.”
